Refreshing An Exclusive Brand

Barefoot Retreats are an established full-service letting and management company offering exclusive holiday homes and cottages to guests along the North Norfolk coast. We were initially asked to help look at their digital marketing activity and online conversion rates, as things had plateaued after several successful years.

We began with a full website review, looking at their digital activities and a brand audit to define how the visual identity was applied. And this quickly identified some clear paths for taking Barefoot forward with a clean, contemporary style that retains the brand’s character.

Speeding Up The Digital Experience

Our digital review quickly found that the speed of the old website was delivering a negative user experience, and a new website needed to be designed. Along with adding some key new features, a core part of our brief was to create a new design that was light on graphic resources (to optimise loading speeds) while still catching the eye.

Fortunately, the Barefoot website already had exceptional photography and a wealth of content. The next step was to identify a  development partner who understood how to best configure and integrate the Super Control booking system. We chose to work with Creatomatic – specialist Super Control developers based in Scotland. Working with the team at Creatomatic allowed us to quickly progress with the new website design and ensure the design worked quickly and intuitively across desktop, tablet and mobile devices. The new website is a genuine leap forward for the Barefoot customers and bookings team and provides a far superior user experience to its predecessor. 

A Fresh New Brochure Design

Alongside the new website design, we also refreshed the design for the Exclusive Collections brochure, promotional materials and full literature suite. The brand audit had identified some key aspects where the visual identity was beginning to dilute, so it was a timely opportunity to refine the existing brand with clear guidelines.

The new brochure design also introduces a new editorial style that showcases the wonderful photography Barefoot has commissioned, capturing the premium spaces and locations their guest can enjoy.
